Visitors to DNREC’s DuPont Nature Center near Milford are invited to celebrate Earth Month by attending special programs in April while enjoying the views of Mispillion Harbor and learning more about the Delaware River and Bay, including a beach cleanup, storybook time for children and a presentation about the Delaware Wildlife Action Plan.

As part of a month-long celebration of Earth Day in April 2025, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking volunteers to join this year’s cleanup event at Concord Pond, a popular fishing and boating destination near Seaford. Volunteers are asked to pre-register for the event to be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 5.
Get a Head Start on Celebrating Earth Month: Register Early for the April 12 Christina River Watershed Cleanup

Volunteers are invited to join Delaware’s month-long Earth Day celebration in April by helping cleanup 13 sites throughout New Castle County during the annual Christina River Watershed Cleanup. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 12. Registration is open through Thursday, April 10, with hundreds of volunteers expected to rally at sites from Brandywine Hundred south through Glasgow and Bear.
DNREC to Host Introduction to Living Shorelines Training on March 25 and 26

DNREC will host a training March 25 and 26 as an introduction to the process and components of living shorelines in Delaware. Presented in conjunction with the Delaware Living Shorelines Committee, the in-person event will be held at the DNREC Lewes Field Facility from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
