DNREC Division of Parks & Recreation highlights installation of solar panels that now power Fort Delaware State Park

The Division of Parks & Recreation today marked the installation of 540 solar panels to power Fort Delaware State Park. U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, PSEG representatives, Delaware City Mayor Stanley Green, other state officials, and schoolchildren joined DNREC Secretary Shawn M. Garvin for the dedication.




May 11 Rededication of Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill’s Candee Building to Be Celebrated with Ceremony and Public Tours

The Department of Health and Social Services will celebrate the completion of the first phase of an initiative to create a more home-like environment for residents living in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill’s Candee Building with a ceremony, ribbon-cutting and public tours from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, May 11.




Governor Jack A. Markell to Present Awards in the Arts

Governor Jack A. Markell will honor the eight recipients of the 2014 Governor’s Awards for the Arts at a presentation starting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2014 at The Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP required: delarts@state.de.us or 302-577-8278.




Lt. Governor Denn Participates in Deployment Ceremony

On Sunday, August 11th, the Delaware National Guard will host a departure ceremony for approximately 45 members of Detachment 1-150th Engineer Company deploying to Afghanistan.
