World Language Immersion Program Prepares To Launch
More than 340 Delaware kindergarteners this fall will begin their study of either Mandarin Chinese or Spanish in an elementary immersion program and be able to continue that study into middle school, thanks to the launch of the Governor’s World Language Expansion Initiative.
Delaware Division of the Arts invests $1.4 million in the arts sector for Fiscal Year 2013
The Delaware Division of the Arts announces the awarding of $1.4 million in grants for Fiscal Year 2013 to support nearly 100 arts initiatives throughout the state. Twenty-five communities across Delaware will receive grants to support arts programming and services, education, and related marketing and promotion.
Governor’s Weekly Message: Governors Working Together
Governor Markell talks about the upcoming summer National Governors Association meeting,
which begins Friday, July 13. The NGA meets twice a year, bringing Governor together to see what’s working and to find new ways to work together in areas like jobs, schools, public safety and cost-cutting. Governor Markell, who is currently vice-chair, will become NGA Chair for the next year at the conclusion of the meeting.
