DNREC Announces Opening of New Boat Ramp at Records Pond near Laurel

A DNREC grand opening today of a new boat ramp facility at Records Pond near Laurel in Sussex County. Construction began earlier this year on the new facility – which includes a new boat ramp with courtesy dock, expansion of existing parking lots to accommodate boat trailers, and new decking for an existing fishing pier on Records Pond.




DNREC Announces Closure of the Records Pond Tidal Pier

DNREC announced today the closure and removal of the Records Pond tidal pier in Laurel. The pier, located on Broad Creek just downstream of the Records Pond spillway, had its floating docks heavily damaged after heavy rains and massive outflow from the dam caused the floating dock to become partially submerged and break away from the pier.




Records Pond Fishing Pier Closed for Public Safety

The Records Pond fishing pier in Laurel in Sussex County has been closed effective immediately for public safety due to warping of the pier’s decking, the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control announced today.




Records Pond dam and fishing piers closing March 2

The dam and associated fishing access areas at Records Pond in Laurel will be closed to public use during reconstruction of the dam beginning March 2.
