Delaware Law Enforcement Continues to Crackdown on Distracted Drivers with Phone in One Hand. Ticket in the Other. Campaign

Beginning today, Delaware State Police along with 39 municipal law enforcement agencies will again be cracking down on distracted drivers statewide as part of the second wave of the Phone in One Hand. Ticket in the Other. enforcement campaign to save lives on Delaware roadways.




271 Motorists Cited For Not Buckling Up At Night

Two hundred seventy-one (271) motorists were cited for not buckle up at night during the first seat belt enforcement campaign of 2013. Officers from 6 police departments plus Delaware State Police worked over 421 hours of overtime enforcement looking for unbelted motorists.




Don’t Depend on the Luck o’ the Irish to Get You Out of a DUI

Tomorrow Saturday March 16th the New Castle County DUI Task Force will be conducting a DUI checkpoint in Wilmington and 13 other municipal police departments will be conducting DUI patrols to coincide with St. Patrick’s Day festivities across the state.

Did you know that you are three times more likely to be in a car crash at night and wearing a seat belt decreases your risk of being injured or killed by approximately 50%? Delaware law enforcement officers are currently on the lookout for unbelted motorists during the first seat belt enforcement campaign of 2013. New Online Tool For Parents of New Teen Drivers

The Graduated Driver License (GDL) Parent Orientation Program (POP) is now available online at www.ohs.delaware.gov/OHSGDL/story.html for all parents and sponsors of new teen drivers in Delaware. This program is intended for parents and sponsors and explains why the GDL law was implemented in Delaware, gives them teaching and educational resources to help educate and teach their new drivers how to drive safely, and what responsibilities and liabilities the parent/sponsor assumes with a newly licensed driver.
