DNREC, Division of Public Health accepting proposals for wastewater, surface water, and drinking water planning grants

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, along with the Delaware Division of Public Health, are now accepting project proposals from state, county and municipal governments, and conservation districts for matching grants for wastewater, surface water, and drinking water project planning.




Jan. 22 deadline approaching to register for 2020 Delaware Wetlands Conference

Registration for the 2020 Delaware Wetlands Conference closes Wednesday, Jan. 22, so those who have not yet registered are encouraged to do so now, while spots are still available. Organized by DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship with support from the Division of Climate, Coastal & Energy, the conference will be held Wednesday, Jan. 29 and Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.




Revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps to become effective Jan. 22 for portions of New Castle County

DNREC has announced that revised FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps in portions of New Castle County will become effective January 22.




Lewes WWTP, fully operational, ends discharge of partially-treated effluent into Lewes-Rehoboth Canal, Delaware Bay

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control was informed by Tidewater Utilities, Inc. that the Lewes wastewater treatment plant was back online and had resumed normal treatment of effluent following a Dec. 18 system malfunction at the plant.
