Attorney General Kathy Jennings released the following statement Friday regrading the violence committed against innocents in Israel:

Dave and I are grieving for the innocents lost in Israel, and for their families abroad and here in Delaware. I have struggled to find words for what the world has witnessed: Hamas’ flagrant violence and kidnappings committed against civilians was calculated, cruel, and intolerable. This was not an attack on military targets; it was a planned and targeted attack on children and their families enjoying their lives, and an indiscriminate rocket barrage designed to maim, kill, and terrify. Hamas knew how many innocents would die as a consequence of its actions — both in the immediate attack and in the destabilization that followed. There is no justification for this kind of violence. It is unforgivable. We stand in solidarity with Israel and are praying for a lasting peace.
