The budget reflects changes realized and reinforced by the Administration and the General Assembly over eight years, helping the state achieve the fastest job growth in the region while raising the quality of life for all Delawareans.

Governor Markell creates professional regulatory review committee

Acting to ensure that Delaware’s professional licensing regulations are instruments of opportunity, rather than arbitrary and expensive barriers to entry into the job market, Governor Markell today signed an executive order establishing a state Professional Licensing Review Committee. Building upon an effort first announced by the Governor in this year’s State of the State address, the Committee will be made up of representatives from a variety of backgrounds, including heads of executive agencies, members of the General Assembly, community advocates and members of Delaware’s regulated professions.




Governor’s Weekly Message: Making Delaware a Center for Research and Employment in Biotechnology and the Life Sciences

Governor Markell discusses efforts to build a well-trained workforce, foster business development, and bring together leaders from government and industry to make Delaware a center for employment in biotechnology and the life sciences.




Legislation Introduced to Support Investment in Delaware Entrepreneurs

Building on efforts like regulatory reform and broadband improvements that have made Delaware a more welcoming place to start and expand a business, Governor Markell joined members of the General Assembly today to announce legislation that will give startups and small businesses better opportunities to access capital.
