DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife seeking great shots of Delaware hunters for 2016/17 photo contest

With many of Delaware’s fall hunting seasons underway, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife invites you to enter your hunting photographs taken while afield in the 2016/17 Delaware Hunting Photo Contest. The winning photo will be featured on the cover or inside of the 2017/18 Delaware Hunting and Trapping Guide to be published next year.




Trails in White Clay Creek State Park to close Saturday for youth deer hunt

Trails in White Clay Creek State Park will close on Saturday, Nov. 5, as the park hosts its first shotgun youth deer hunt in the Carpenter Recreation Area.




Gov. Markell, DNREC Sec. Small and Education Sec. Godowsky unveil state-of-the-art mobile science laboratory

DNREC’s new state-of-the-art mobile science laboratory, “Science at Your Door,” was unveiled at North Laurel Elementary School in a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Governor Jack Markell, DNREC Secretary David Small and Secretary of Education Steven Godowsky.




Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: Oct. 17-23

DOVER – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between Oct.17-23 made 1,587 contacts with anglers, hunters, boaters and the general public, including 98 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks. Officers responded to 45 complaints.




DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation encourages a Halloween adventure with First State Heritage Park’s ‘Dark Dover’ tours Oct. 28-29

The First State Heritage Park offers its Dark Dover program on Friday and Saturday evenings of Halloween weekend.
