Delaware’s 2016/17 hunting seasons will start Thursday, Sept. 1 with the opening of the archery and crossbow deer season and the mourning dove and resident Canada goose seasons on private lands and state wildlife areas.




Volunteers encouraged to sign up now for Delaware Coastal Cleanup Sept. 17

The 2016 Delaware Coastal Cleanup will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 17 at more than 50 sites statewide. Registration will close on September 5.




DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife announces 2016/17 Sunday deer hunting dates; now seeks public comment on state wildlife area Sunday deer hunting locations, times

With a recent change in Delaware law, deer hunting is allowed on five specified Sundays on private lands and on designated public lands beginning with the 2016/2017 hunting season, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today. Sunday deer hunting dates for the upcoming season will be Oct. 9, Nov. 13 and 20, Dec. 11 this year, and Jan. 15, 2017.




Evening of storytelling and dancing set for Aug. 31 at White Clay Creek State Park

White Clay Creek State Park invites the public to a very special extension of the free Wednesday Night Concert series. Starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, visitors will enjoy songs and interactive storytelling followed by interactive dancing at the park’s Carpenter Recreation Area, 880 New London Road, in Newark, Delaware.




DNREC-sponsored 2016 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program to be held as one-day events Sept. 24 and Oct. 8

Registration is now open for Delaware’s 2016 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) program, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes and Saturday, Oct. 8 at Lums Pond State Park in Bear.
