New campground and other enhancements transform Delaware Seashore State Park

Governor Jack Markell, Federal Highway Administration Delaware Administrator Mary Ridgeway, DelDOT Secretary Jennifer Cohan, and DNREC Division of Parks & Recreation Director Ray Bivens joined other officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, opening the brand new North Inlet Campground and enabling the public to enjoy other new improvements at Delaware Seashore State Park.

Bells across Delaware will ring at 3:15 p.m. on April 9, 2015 in commemoration of Robert E. Lee’s 1865 surrender at Appomattox which effectively ending the American Civil War.




Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs to sponsor 20 special events during April 2015

Delaware’s Dutch heritage, living-history performances by the American Historical Theatre, and Earth Day at the John Dickinson Plantation among events to be presented.




Women’s History Month programs at Delaware’s New Castle Court House Museum on March 11 and 25, 2015

Programs to include lecture on “Louise du Pont Crowninshield—Historic Preservation Pioneer” and a screening of the film “The Women.”




Bill Ayrey of space-suit manufacturer ILC Dover to discuss space travel at Lewes, Del.’s Zwaanendael Museum on March 14, 20

Lab manager and company historian from ILC Dover will discuss the future of space travel and space suits from the early 2000s to the present.
