Anyone interested in becoming a beach-nesting bird monitor is invited to attend a training session held by the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 2 at the Officers Club in Cape Henlopen State Park located at Queens Road, Lewes, Del.

DNREC is seeking volunteers who want to help protect Delaware’s shorebird species – which include federally-listed threatened piping plovers and state-listed endangered American oystercatchers – by working as beach-nesting bird monitors. Training and a potential field trip will be held Saturday, May 3 at Cape Henlopen State Park.

DNREC to Host Introduction to Living Shorelines Training on March 25 and 26
DNREC will host a training March 25 and 26 as an introduction to the process and components of living shorelines in Delaware. Presented in conjunction with the Delaware Living Shorelines Committee, the in-person event will be held at the DNREC Lewes Field Facility from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
