Department of Labor | Date Posted: Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Lewes, Del. May 8, 2019 –The 4th Annual One-Stop System Convening, which brings together Delaware’s front line workforce staff, will be held on Tuesday, May 14th at the Dover Downs Conference Center from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm

Staff, which helps Delaware job seekers and employers, are gathering to share ideas and streamline processes.

This year’s Convening theme, “Moving Forward Together”, includes workshops provided by employer human resource personnel. There will also be discussions about supporting people who have experienced trauma, understanding criminal records, and an update on prison re-entry initiatives.

“This is a vital part of improving the state’s workforce system,” said Bill Potter, Executive Director of the Delaware Workforce Development Board. “The goal is for people doing the daily hard work of preparing Delawareans for the future workplace to find out what their partners are doing and develop relationships that can help job seekers and employers.”

The Convening is part of a larger initiative in Delaware which brings system partners together to increase coordination as they strive to provide a full range of services (job seeker, education, human and social services).

The workforce system supports career pathways through a seamless service delivery approach by providing job seekers and workers information, technology, career development and coaching, supportive services, and training in demand industries and occupations needed to get and keep good jobs in alignment with employer talent pipeline needs.
