DNREC seeking volunteers for Delaware Coastal Cleanup

DNREC’s First State Heritage Park will celebrate the “First People of the First State: The Lenape Tribe of Delaware,” for the First State Heritage Park’s monthly “First Saturday in the First State” on Sept. 1. The program will feature a variety of free events and activities.

DOVER – Delaware’s Advisory Council on Wildlife and Freshwater Fish will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, in the DNREC Auditorium, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901. The council will discuss wildlife management activities on the Midlands Wildlife Area located in Sussex County, as well as upcoming statewide September hunting seasons and hunting opportunities on select state wildlife areas. Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between Aug. 13-19 made 2,995 contacts with anglers, boaters, and the general public, issuing 32 citations. Officers responded to 79 complaints regarding possible violations of laws and regulations or requests to assist the public.
