Delaware Quitline Offers Free Smoking Cessation Supplies to Celebrate Its 15th Anniversary

The Division of Public Health (DPH) is helping the Delaware Quitline celebrate a major milestone this month. The Quitline has now been helping Delaware smokers break their addiction for the past 15 years.

The Delaware Quitline is a toll-free tobacco cessation hotline (1-866-409-1858) that provides tobacco users (including e-cigarette users) the option of receiving counseling by phone or in person. Health care professionals trained in cessation counseling are available statewide for in-person counseling. All Quitline services are free to Delaware residents 18 years of age and older.




“George Washington Birthday Celebration” at Dover, Del.’s Old State House on Feb. 22, 2016 at 1 p.m.

Event to feature writings by, and about, the first president, read by historical interpreters and distinguished guests, plus live, streaming video of Sen. Chris Coons reading Washington’s Farewell Address from the floor of the U.S. Senate.




National Women’s History Month events among 20 special programs at the museums of the State of Delaware during March 2016

Programs on operatic divas, women’s lives at the John Dickinson Plantation and the escape of an enslaved woman among the month’s highlights.




Code Purple Continues in Delaware

With temperatures dropping into the teens or single digits across the state and wind chills below zero throughout the weekend, Code Purple locations continue to remain open in all three counties for individuals who are homeless and in need of a place of refuge.
