During the month of November 2015, the home of the “Penman of the Revolution” will present seven special programs that explore different aspects of everyday life as it would have been lived during the 18th century when John Dickinson was in residence at the property.




Painter Tom Newby to show work in the Mezzanine Gallery in November

In this exhibit Tom Newby continues his exploration of classical themes in western art through the prism of the contemporary corporate landscape. Along with paintings from his “Ubiquitous Figure Series” this exhibition introduces nine newly created works based on figures found in Greek mythology.




William Penn (and Mrs. Penn) return to New Castle, Del. on Oct. 24, 2015

Day-long series of activities commemorating Penn’s Oct. 27, 1682 disembarkment at New Castle, his first landing in the New World.




Photographer Jeffrey Rubin to show work in the Mezzanine Gallery in October

Abstractions presents a selection of photographic interpretations of the natural world. Through recording and reinterpretation of the nature, the artist aims to represent the familiar in new ways.




Museums of the state of Delaware to feature 13 free programs in October 2015

Highlights of the month include programs on William Penn, the Ridgely family of Dover, and Lewes in the 1600s.
