Delawareans shopping for automobile insurance policies would no longer have their price quotes impacted by their age, marital status, credit, income or other personal life decisions under proposed legislation filed Thursday by Rep. Trey Paradee and backed by Delaware Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro.




Excessive Homeowners Insurance Increase Denied by Insurance Commissioner

A request by Windsor-Mount Joy Mutual Insurance Company (“WNMJ”) to increase insurance rates on over 2,000 manufactured housing policyholders by 20%-30% has been denied by Insurance Commissioner Trinidad Navarro.




19,000 Delaware Consumers Affected by Data Breach

As a result of multiple consumer complaints, the Delaware Department of Insurance has been made aware of a security breach, involving Summit Reinsurance Services, Inc. (“SummitRe”) and BCS Financial Corporation, both subcontractors of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware.
