Alapocas Run State Park’s Can-Do Playground to celebrate 10th anniversary

DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation and the Wilmington Area Rotary Club’s Community Fund will host a 10th anniversary celebration of the Can-Do Playground in Alapocas Run State Park from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15. The celebration, open to the public, will feature family-friendly activities, including a “Nature on the Go” cart and the Brandywine Traveling Zoo, along with free giveaways for the first 200 guests.




Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: June 26-July 2

To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between June 26-July 2 made 5,466 contacts with anglers, boaters and the general public, including 877 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks, issuing 103 citations.

Restoration activities within the Augustine Wildlife Area’s Lang Impoundment and Little Creek Wildlife Area’s main impoundment have begun, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today.




DNREC seeks public’s reporting of Delaware wild turkey sightings for 2017 survey

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife is asking the public to assist with the state’s 8th annual wild turkey survey by helping identify locations where the birds are successfully reproducing in Delaware.




DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announces Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament’s new youth division

Fishing offers an outstanding opportunity to enjoy Delaware’s great outdoors and spend quality time with family. To add to the experience for anglers age 15 and under, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife today announced a new youth division of the Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament with smaller qualifying sizes for trophy fish than the tournament’s adult requirements.
