DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife reminds waterfowlers that the last of three 2016/17 seasonal segments for hunting migratory ducks in Delaware opens Friday, Dec. 9 and runs through Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017.




Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission to hold Dec. 8 public hearings on changes to interstate management plans for Atlantic menhaden and Jonah crab

DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife will host Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) public hearings on proposed changes to the interstate fishery management plans (FMP) for Atlantic menhaden at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8 in DNREC’s Lewes Facility, 901 Pilottown Road, Lewes, DE 19958.




Statewide December antlerless deer season opens Dec. 10

Delaware deer hunters will have another opportunity to harvest antlerless deer during the state’s December antlerless deer season – which runs from Saturday, Dec. 10 through Saturday, Dec. 17, including Sunday, Dec. 11.




DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: Nov. 21-27

DOVER – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between Nov. 21-27 made 1,134 contacts with anglers, hunters, boaters and the general public, including 88 vessel boardings for boating safety and fishing regulation compliance checks, issuing 27 citations. Officers responded to 52 complaints regarding possible violations of laws and regulations or requests to assist the public. An increased Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police presence continued at the C&D Canal Conservation Area and associated recreational trail.
