Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police Blotter: March 26-April 1

Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police officers between March 26-April 1 made 1,244 contacts with hunters, anglers, boaters and the general public, issuing 14 citations. Officers responded to 33 complaints regarding possible violations of laws and regulations or requests to assist the public.




DNREC seeks Delaware students who make a difference in the environment for 2018 Young Environmentalist Awards

DNREC encourages teachers, classmates, parents, club or group leaders, and others to nominate students for the 2018 Young Environmentalist of the Year Awards. Nominations must be based on actions or projects which have taken place between July 1, 2017 and June 30, 2018.

Delaware’s spring turkey hunting season opens Saturday, April 14, and runs through Saturday, May 12, DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife announced today, with hunters aiming to capitalize on the month-long season by bagging a gobbler afield from among the state’s thriving wild turkey population.




DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife sets Delaware Waterfowl, Trout Stamp contest judging for April 12

DNREC invites wildlife art enthusiasts, stamp and print collectors, waterfowl hunters, anglers, birdwatchers, wetland conservationists, and working retriever fans to gather at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 12 for the judging of Delaware’s annual Waterfowl Stamp and Trout Stamp contests, which will be held at the Dover Public Library, on Loockerman Plaza, in Dover.




DNREC’s First State Heritage Park’s lantern tours to light up Fridays this spring

DNREC’s First State Heritage Park will offer lantern tours of The Green and three historic Dover cemeteries at 8 p.m. Friday evenings from April 6 through June 1.
