John Dickinson’s birthday, candle-making and holiday crafts to be featured at Dover, Del.’s John Dickinson Plantation in November 2014

During the month of November 2014, the home of the “Penman of the Revolution” will present five special programs that explore different aspects of everyday life as it would have been lived during the 18th century when John Dickinson was in residence at the property.




The Coastal Zone Act of 1971 and Dutch-American Heritage Day to be featured at Lewes, Del.’s Zwaanendael Museum in November 2014

Programs focus on different aspects of Delaware history.




Delaware Update on Ebola Prevention and Preparation

Joined by the State’s top health officials, along with infectious disease and emergency response experts, Governor Markell today provided an update on ongoing statewide efforts in response to the Ebola virus epidemic.




Nine free programs at the state of Delaware’s downtown Dover museums during November 2014

Events held on Nov. 1 in conjunction with First Saturday in the First State; on Nov. 4 in celebration of Election Day; and on Nov. 11 in commemoration of Veteran’s Day.




Governor Markell Tours Jazz Court Apartments

Governor Jack Markell joined Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA) Director Anas Ben Addi, Representative Stephanie Bolden, in addition to representatives from the City of Wilmington, The Michaels Development Company, Bank of America and Architectural Alliance, for a tour of Jazz Court Apartments, a new affordable 44-unit three-story apartment building located in Wilmington. This project is part of a master plan created by Banc of America Community Development Corporation and its development partners, utilizing a former Brownfield site remediated and donated by Bank of America to its partners. The project will also include 17 homeownership townhomes to be built by Inter-Neighborhood Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County.
