Bickey produced site specific work for this exhibition. His work incorporates found objects and constructed sculptural pieces that take advantage of the soaring space in the gallery. Light and sound play an important role in the work.
Sculptor Robert Kelly to show work in the Mezzanine Gallery in July
The title Midway alludes to the space between science and art in which Kelly works as well as the arcade influences from a carnival midway. Kelly is inspired by movement and incorporates elements of amusement, surprise, and entertainment into his paper-based and pop-up sculpture.
Sculptor Harold Kalmus to show work in the Mezzanine Gallery in May
Harold Kalmus will show a variety of his figurative sculpture including large scale portraits, smaller full figure compositions, and figure study reliefs. Described as a “contemporary realist,” his style reflects a mastery of anatomy.
Olga Nielsen to display sculptures and works on paper in the Mezzanine Gallery in May
This solo exhibition of Nielsen’s work focuses on portraiture and representations of the feminine figure. Twenty percent of each sale of work from this exhibition will be donated to the Friendship House’s Women’s Day Center.
George Lorio to exhibit sculpture in the Mezzanine Gallery in March
This solo exhibition of Lorio’s work will showcase a selection of original works. George Lorio is the recipient of a 2013 Individual Artist Fellowship in Sculpture from the Delaware Division of the Arts.
