Wilmington – The Delaware Child Predator Task Force has arrested two men in separate incidents, Attorney General Beau Biden announced today. Cody A. Laisure of Greenwood, and Ronald J. Fontana, Jr. of Wilmington were charged with 10 and eight counts of dealing child pornography, respectively.
“Every day, the Delaware Child Predator Task Force uncovers predators who try and hide online, taking them out of the equation and keeping kids safe,” said Attorney General Biden.
On October 5, Child Predator Task Force detectives arrested Laisure, 23, at his residence at 15765 Hickory Meadow Drive in Greenwood. While Task Force detectives were conducting background work on a Dover address identified through a tip from the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Delaware State Police responded to a domestic disturbance call at the same address. Police were informed that the disturbance stemmed from the alleged discovery of child pornography on a computer shared by Laisure. Although Laisure had fled, police seized the computer and a subsequent forensic examination revealed numerous files containing child pornography, including video of children as young as eight years old. Detectives located Laisure at the Greenwood residence, where he was arrested and charged with 10 counts of dealing child pornography. Laisure was arraigned at J.P. Court #2 and is currently being held at Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $100,000 secured bail.
On October 6, Child Predator Task Force detectives and a State Police Trooper executed a search warrant at 13 Byrd Court in Wilmington after the address was identified through a proactive online undercover investigation. Assorted digital media, including computers, were seized and later examined, revealing numerous files containing child pornography. Based on the evidence and an interview in which he admitted to using the internet to search for child pornography, Ronald J. Fontana, 29, was arrested and charged with eight counts of dealing child pornography. He was arraigned at J.P. Court #2, committed to James T. Vaughan Correctional Center, and later release on $80,000 secured bail.
