Media are invited to attend World Elder Abuse Awareness Day events that will take place tomorrow throughout the day at senior centers statewide. Attorney General Biden will attend and speak at the Kent County and Sussex County events. Representatives of the Attorney General’s office, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Delaware Disabilities Council and others will speak at all three events, which will also feature the airing of a documentary, screening of student elder abuse video contest winners, and a tree planting ceremony. The June 8 media release detailing the events is copied at the bottom of this message.

Wilmington – Attorney General Beau Biden announced today that his Senior Protection Initiative, along with state agencies, law enforcement, and other advocates will recognize the 7th Annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15 with events in all three counties. Based on the theme “Stop Abuse and Financial Exploitation (SAFE)”, the events are designed to bring greater recognition of mistreatment of older adults and highlight the resources avail
