Another 10 DUI Arrests Made In September

The Checkpoint Strikeforce campaign netted another 10 DUI arrests last weekend (Sept 14). This brings the total DUI arrests made as part of the campaign to 154. Statewide, there have been over 3,500 DUI arrests made in Delaware this year.
In addition to the DUI arrests, officers issued 2 seat belt citations, apprehended 1 wanted individual, made 6 drug arrests, issued 2 child restraint citations, and issued 40 citations for various other traffic violations.
Two sobriety checkpoints are scheduled to occur on September 21 & 22. They are scheduled as outlined below:
Friday September 21st – Christiana – Checkpoint (DSP)
Saturday September 22nd– Seaford – Checkpoint (Seaford PD)
Checkpoint Strikeforce is a regional sobriety checkpoint campaign aimed at arresting DUI offenders, and uses high visibility enforcement to deter those who would otherwise choose to drink and drive. The campaign, a six month long effort running through New Year’s Eve, involves setting up weekly DUI checkpoints statewide.
