The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating an outside fire that was reported on April 23, 2025, shortly after 1:00 P.M. in the 3000 block of Big Stone Beach Road Milford, Delaware.

The South Bowers Volunteer Fire Company and assisting mutual aid fire companies arrived on scene and found a large outdoor fire burning out of control into the woods located behind a residence. During fire suppression activities a deceased male victim was located within the burned area. The Victim was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for identification and cause of death

Delaware Deputy State Fire Marshal’s responded to the scene and conducted an origin and cause investigation. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no other reported injuries. Damage is estimated at $250.
