SkillsUSA Delaware returned from the 2025 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) in Atlanta, Georgia, proudly celebrating exceptional results that showcased the First State’s commitment to career and technical excellence.
A delegation of 84 competitors from six Delaware high schools — New Castle County Vocational Technical’s Delcastle Technical High School, Hodgson Vo-Tech, Howard High School of Technology and St. Georges Technical High School along with POLYTECH School District’s POLYTECH High School and Sussex Technical Vocational School District’s Sussex Technical High School — represented the state in 55 competitions, demonstrating advanced technical skills and leadership on the national stage.
This year, Delaware students entered barbering and heavy equipment operation for the first time and returned to community service, building maintenance, and customer service after extended breaks, emphasizing the state’s growing competitive diversity.
Two Delaware students brought home national bronze medals:
In addition, many students earned Skill Point Certificates, awarded to those meeting industry-established standards, signaling workforce readiness and technical mastery.

This year, Delaware’s new state officers also participated in Leverage, an intensive national leadership training. Through this experience, officers built skills in Leadership, Communication, and Responsibility, preparing them for a strong year of service. Officers then served as voting delegates and represented Delaware throughout the conference.
As Delaware continues to champion technical education and leadership, these results solidify the state’s position as a leader in preparing students for the workforce and beyond. The growth of Delaware SkillsUSA in the past three years has been astounding and our projections for growth will help close the skills gap in our workforce.
