The Delaware Department of Education announces the U.S. Department of Agriculture policy for free and reduced-price meals for families unable to pay the full price for meals served under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and After School Snack Program (ASSP). Each participating school and its administrative office have a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party.
First State Students Earn Innovative Honors at National STEM Conference

Students and advisors from across the State of Delaware joined more than 8,000 national members at the 45th Annual Technology Student Association (TSA) conference that was hosted in Louisville, Kentucky last week. The First State delegation represented 130 of Delaware’s finest student leaders from Caesar Rodney High School, Cab Calloway School of The Arts, Fred Fifer Middle School, H.B. duPont Middle School, Indian River High School, Magnolia Middle School, MOT Charter High School, Newark Charter School, Newark High School, Odyssey Charter School Postlethwait Middle School and Sussex Central High School.

New Castle County Libraries Receives a National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Grant

New Castle County Libraries is one of 62 organizations nationwide selected to receive a 2023-2024 NEA Big Read grant. A grant of $20,000 will support a community reading program focusing on “The Best We Could Do: An Illustrated Memoir” by Thi Bui between September 2023 and March 2024. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the power of a shared reading experience.
Future Health Professionals Attend 46th Annual Leadership Conference

On June 21-25, over 150 students and advisors from across the State of Delaware joined over 12,000 other members at the 46th annual HOSA-Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference in Dallas. Delaware students represented the first state in competitive events that included: Medical Math, Public Health, Behavioral Health, Community Awareness, and more.
