Grant provides students enrichment, new experiences

DOE is issuing a request for proposal (RFP) for eligible districts and charter schools to administer out-of-school-time academic enrichment programs through the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. Initial grants will be at least $50,000 annually for three to five years. Programs may be developed at all grade levels to support elementary, middle and high school students. Representatives from eligible schools or community programs must attend a mandatory meeting this October as part of the competitive grant application process.

DDOE supporting DAPSS community as school closes

Delaware Academy of Public Safety and Security (DAPSS) leaders informed the Delaware Department of Education (DDOE) Monday afternoon that the school will close its doors on Friday and relinquish its charter. The last day of classes was Tuesday. School leaders met with students and families Tuesday night to announce the decision. A DDOE representative was in attendance.

La División de Salud Pública (DPH) y el distrito escolar de Indiana River anunció hoy que aproximadamente 50 individuos en la escuela primaria de Georgetown en el condado de Sussex County han estado expuestos a alguien con tuberculosis activa (TB) DPH está haciendo contacto con aquellas personas para ofrecer pruebas de TB gratuitas, así como tratamiento si es necesario.
