Lowering Of Flags Following Tragic Shooting In Minneapolis

DOVER – Out of respect for yesterday’s victims of the tragic violence in Minneapolis, Minnesota, President Donald J. Trump has ordered the lowering of flags to half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset on August 31, 2025. In addition, this order applies to flags at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations. 

Governor Meyer issued the following statement regarding the tragedy in Minnesota:  

“Lauren and I are heartbroken for the Minneapolis community. Delaware stands in solidarity with the students, families, and educators affected by this tragedy, because school should always be a place to learn, not to be scared. We grieve with all of Minnesota as they begin the long road of healing.”

In concurrence with President Trump’s proclamation, Governor Matt Meyer has ordered the United States and Delaware flags at state buildings and facilities to be flown at half-staff beginning immediately and until sunset on August 31, 2025.
