“We’re committed to connecting with everyday Delawareans wherever they are,” said Governor Matt Meyer. “This radio show is part of a new era of accountability and transparency within Delaware politics, and we’re excited to share our priorities and accomplishments and hear directly from the people of our state.”

WHYY and DPM, Delaware’s trusted public media outlets, will co-produce the program and provide listeners with thoughtful, balanced coverage of the conversations that shape the state.

“Delaware Public Media is proud to co-host this program and bring open, honest dialogue to our listeners,” said Tom Byrne, News Director at Delaware Public Media. “This partnership gives Delawareans a unique opportunity to have their voices heard and to get direct answers from their governor on the issues that matter most.”

Shirley Min will host the program at WHYY. Each month, she will be joined by two Delaware journalists. Min is a journalist with 25 years of experience in commercial and public television and radio. Min resides in Delaware. She is also the host of a WHYY lifestyle program on WHYY-TV called “You Oughta Know.”

About Delaware Governor Matt Meyer

Governor Matt Meyer is a former public school math teacher and small business owner who served as New Castle County Executive from 2017 through January 2025. As the leader of Delaware’s largest local government, Matt proved that government can still work for the people–delivering real results for real people and making real progress for Delaware’s working families. Governor Meyer is bringing that same result-driven leadership across our state by creating an effective government that reflects our values and priorities.

From Wilmington to Kenya and Iraq: Growing up in Delaware, Matthew attended schools in the Brandywine School District, followed by Wilmington Friends School, and then studied Computer Science & Political Science at Brown University. He then moved to Nairobi, Kenya, where he learned Swahili and created Ecosandals, a recycled footwear company that sold environmentally friendly footwear to customers in 17 countries on five continents. Matthew subsequently spent 12 months in Mosul, Iraq, as a diplomat embedded with the United States Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.
