United States Attorney Colm F. Connolly, Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker, Delaware Attorney General Joseph R. Biden, III, Special Agent-in-Charge Gregory K. Gant, and Wilmington Police Chief Michael Szczerba announced today the implementation of a joint, federal-state-and-local law enforcement initiative to combat the use of guns to commit felony crimes in Wilmington.

Attorney General Joseph R. Biden, III today announced a $90 million nationwide settlement with Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. and Samsung Electronics Company, Ltd. (“Samsung”), resolving allegations that Samsung and other major computer chip manufacturers fixed prices of Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM). The money paid is restitution for consumers and state and local government agencies that paid more for computers and other electronic devices because of the price-fixing.

$96,000 will be paid to approximately 300 current and former Delaware employees
In a settlement with the U.S. Department of Labor, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has agreed to compensate its employees for technical errors in the calculations of past overtime pay. Under the agreement, Wal-Mart will pay approximately $34 million to 87,000 current and former hourly employees nationally who were underpaid by at least $20, of which $96,000 will be paid to approximately 300 current and former Delaware employees. The amount being paid to these employees includes up to five year of underpayments with interest.
