DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife Confirms Another State Record Blue Catfish, Caught in the Nanticoke River

DNREC’s Division of Fish and Wildlife has confirmed a new state record blue catfish, the fourth state record of the year for the 2023 Delaware Sport Fishing Tournament.

Sirens will be activated for three to five minutes, followed by a test message of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) on local radio stations. Sirens tested are the same ones used to alert the public in the event of an actual emergency. There are 37 sirens in Delaware located within a 10-mile radius of the Salem-Hope Creek Generating Stations in New Jersey. The sirens cover an area north from Delaware City, west to Middletown, and south to Woodland Beach. This test is part of an ongoing program that continually monitors the integrity of the siren system.

Family Emergency Preparedness Day Canceled

The Family Emergency Preparedness Day event scheduled for Saturday, September 23 at Brecknock County Park in Camden, Delaware has been canceled due to expected inclement weather from a pending coastal storm. Out of an abundance of caution, officials from participating agencies determined that the threat of high winds and precipitation would make the event unsafe to both participants and attendees.
