DNREC’s Division of Parks & Recreation holds second annual Delaware Capital Campout at three state parks

Governor Markell, DNREC Secretary Small and other officials welcomed more than 100 first-time campers to the second annual Delaware Capital Campout being held simultaneously at Bellevue State Park, Killens Pond State Park and Cape Henlopen State Park.




DNREC’s Sportsmen Against Hunger program distributes more than 16,000 pounds of venison to Delawareans in need

Delaware hunters donated 586 deer to DNREC’s Division of Fish & Wildlife’s Sportsmen Against Hunger program during the 2015/16 season. The donations were processed into 16,599 pounds of venison, which will provide more than 72,000 meals for needy Delawareans.

It supports social and emotional development, helps even the playing field for children across socio-economic levels, and puts all kids on the path to meeting their full potential. The efforts of state leaders, advocates, and, most importantly, teachers and other staff are paying off.
