Having helped rebuild Delaware’s economy from the depths of the Great Recession to record employment numbers and the best job growth in the region, Economic Development Director Alan Levin announced that he would leave the Markell Administration at the end of the year’s legislative session to pursue a new business opportunity.




Governor Announces $1 Million Grant Awarded to Boost Internet Access in Sussex

Building on Delaware’s recent recognition for providing the best high-speed broadband internet access in the country, Governor Markell announced a $1 million grant for network services provider Fibertech Networks to improve connectivity in Sussex County, helping address some of the few remaining pockets where Delaware residents and businesses do not have high quality service.

Downtown revitalization efforts in Seaford, Dover and Wilmington will soon get a boost, as Governor Jack Markell announced the recipients of the Delaware’s inaugural round of Downtown Development District (DDD) Grants.




2016/17 Delaware Waterfowl, 2016 Trout Stamp art contest winners are announced

Two artists have won top honors in the state’s sporting stamp art contests. A painting of green-winged teal with a yellow Labrador retriever by Deanne “Dee Dee” Murry of Centralia, Wash., will grace the 2016/17 Delaware Waterfowl Stamp, and a painting of a brown trout by Nicholas Markell of Hugo, Minn., will become the face of the 2016 Delaware Trout Stamp.
