Delaware farmers’ market season begins

The 2015 Delaware farmers’ market season opens this week, kicking off another great local growing season after a record-setting 2014. “A taste of Delaware is available at any local farmers’ market or farmstand, where First State families can buy directly from our state’s farm families,” said Secretary of Agriculture Ed Kee.

Four institutions of higher education in Delaware—the University of Delaware, Delaware Technical Community College, Delaware State University and Wilmington University—all have said students’ scores on the state’s new 11th grade Smarter Assessments are a good measure of college readiness and will be accepted in lieu of a separate placement test, Gov. Jack Markell announced.
