OHS Annual Safe Family Holiday Campaign Kicks Off Thanksgiving Week
Wednesday, November 26th marks the beginning of the Delaware Office of Highway Safety’s annual Safe Family Holiday Campaign. Safe Family Holiday enforcement activities over the next six weeks will include 30 law enforcement agencies statewide conducting overtime patrols focusing on speeding, impaired driving, and seat belt use.
Delaware Participates in National Crackdown on Drunk Driving
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), if drunk driving was eliminated more than 10,000 lives would be spared nationally each year. That is why the Delaware Office of Highway Safety (OHS) and law enforcement agencies are participating in the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” high-visibility enforcement campaign that is running from August 15 through September 1.
DUI Checkpoint and Patrols Set for Weekend
One Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI checkpoint is scheduled to take place Friday August 1st, in Newark and will be conducted by the Delaware State Police. DUI saturation patrols will also be conducted this weekend by Harrington PD and Seaford PD.
Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI Enforcement Continues
One Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI checkpoint is scheduled to take place Saturday July 26th, in Rehoboth Beach and will be conducted by the Delaware State Police. DUI saturation patrols will also be conducted this weekend by Dover PD, Laurel PD, Rehoboth PD, and Smyrna PD.

One Checkpoint Strikeforce DUI checkpoint is scheduled to take place tonight, Friday, July 18th, in Wilmington and will be conducted by the New Castle County DUI Task Force. Delaware State Police Troop 3 will also be saturating Kent County with roving patrols cracking down on impaired drivers this weekend.
