CEOs, Major Companies and Government Officials Launch Public-Private Initiative to Remove Obstacles to Employing People with Disabilities

Top-level executives from more than a dozen major U.S. companies joined with government officials to launch a nationwide public-private sector initiative to advance employment of people with disabilities. The companies and officials plan to work together to achieve common goals, including to identify and resolve employment barriers facing people with disabilities, share experience and best practices, raise visibility around the effort and awareness of the significant benefits, and expand participation.




Optimizing Health Outcomes for Children with Asthma in Delaware

On June 15, 2012 the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation announced that Nemours will receive $3.6 million as part of $1.9 billion in cooperative agreements being awarded to 107 organizations from nearly 3,000 applicants from across the nation. These funds are being awarded to implement projects in communities that will deliver better health, improved care and lower costs to people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), particularly those with the highest health care needs.




Gov. Markell Welcomes the Specialisterne Foundation to Delaware

Gov. Jack Markell welcomed the Specialisterne Foundation to Delaware during a special announcement about funding to facilitate the employment of Delawareans with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder.




Delaware Veterans Home Recognizes Five Years Of Service

The Delaware Veterans Home recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of the day when it welcomed its first residents. Two of the first five residents took part in a commemoration of the anniversary on Wednesday at the Home in Milford.




More than 100,000 Acres of Delaware Farmland Permanently Preserved

Thanks to efforts over the last two decades, Delaware has now permanently preserved more than 100,000 acres of farmland, a milestone that protects a fifth of all agricultural land in the state, state agricultural officials have announced.
