DOVER – Farmers interested in learning more about protecting commodities revenue and keeping cash flow constant can attend a risk management workshop next week.

The Aug. 27 event will feature Cliff Parker, formerly of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency, speaking about crop insurance options, and Dave Goeller of the University of Nebraska addressing farm financial issues, including succession planning. Other topics may include grain marketing, proper recordkeeping and compliance.

The workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the Carvel Research and Education Center, 16483 County Seat Highway, Georgetown. Attendees should register in advance to make sure enough materials are available by calling 877-673-2767.

The event is sponsored by the USDA Risk Management Agency and the Delaware Department of Agriculture.
