Eighteen Delaware sites awarded grants for urban agriculture and community gardens

Eighteen Delaware urban agriculture and community garden projects are receiving support through a second round of funding designed to strengthen communities and improve nutrition.

The partnerships that have developed at the local and state around urban agriculture and community gardening have really helped to transform Delaware communities. The grants awarded this year totaled $27,671.74, with $17,671.74 from Delaware Department of Agriculture. New Castle Conservation District pledged the additional $10,000 match for New Castle County sites.




DNREC offers new flood planning tool for determining risk for home and business development projects

DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship’s Shoreline & Waterway Management Section now offers an interactive Flood Planning Tool with up-to-date information for helping to determine flood risk for homes and businesses and for designing development projects in accordance with floodplain codes.




Applications now being accepted for Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police’s second annual summer Youth Academy

If you are a student aged 12 to 15 with an interest in natural resources and law enforcement, applications are now being accepted for the Delaware Fish & Wildlife Natural Resources Police’s second annual summer Youth Academy.
