Forwood garden promotes real-world science instruction

Beginning in the fall, Forwood’s sensory garden will elevate science instruction in areas like plant life cycles, ecosystems, and insects. Students will have an opportunity to measure plant heights and record observations in their real environment. These types of opportunities align to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) that help districts and charter schools set the expectations for what students should learn in science and know by the end of each grade level.
Middletown program gives students college experience

Middletown High School’s DSU Early Bird program for male students of color gives students the chance to earn both college credits in high school and a taste of what college will be like.
