Kids Invited to Cast a Line at Youth Fishing Tournament

Families are invited to bring their kids out to try casting a line for a big fish in three of the First State’s freshwater public ponds when the Fish and Wildlife Delaware Natural Resources Police hosts its 38th annual Youth Fishing Tournament from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Scotton Landing Boat Ramp Reopens for Spring

The Scotton Landing boat facility near Magnolia has reopened with a new boat ramp and courtesy dock, plus a repaved parking lot, for boaters to access the St. Jones River, following reconstruction that started in November 2023.

DNREC’s “Take a Kid Fishing!” events are offered free of charge to all participants, with all fishing equipment needed also provided free for participants’ use at the events.
Delaware to Open Upstate Trout Season With Youth-Only Fishing Day Set for April 6

Delaware’s 2024 upstate stream trout season will open for youth anglers under age 16 at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, with the next day, Sunday, April 7, marking the traditional opening day of the trout season in the state.
