DNREC Division of Parks and Recreation is seeking public input at three open houses on the first proposed park pass increase in 10 years to address rising costs and record demand. A recent economic impact study found the system generated $822 million in revenue and 7.4 million in visitors for the state in 2024.




DNREC Schedules Additional Regulatory Review Event, Virtual Forum Seeking More Input on Unamended Regulations

DNREC, which has hosted three regulatory review public hearings this week as required by Delaware Code, announced it will host a fourth regulatory review meeting, a virtual forum providing additional opportunity for the public to engage in the regulatory review process while allowing DNREC to gather more input on whether the regulations subject to review will either be amended or possibly eliminated. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 2. Public participation is encouraged, as the forum is to feature live comment as an option as DNREC solicits more regulatory review input.




Comments Sought on Draft Delaware Wildlife Action Plan Draft List of Threats and Conservation Actions

DNREC continues the revision process of updating the Delaware Wildlife Action Plan (DEWAP), a 10-year conservation strategy that will guide conservation efforts for the state’s wildlife and their habitats through 2035. DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife now seeks public comment on a draft list of threats and conservation actions for the state’s Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN) – with the draft document IDing factors that could support restoration and long-term SGCN management.




DNREC Works to Revise 2025 Delaware Wildlife Action Plan

DNREC has begun an update of the Delaware Wildlife Action Plan for the next 10 years, kicking off a process that will include federal, state and non-government conservation partners, along with wildlife experts, key stakeholders and the public. The theme of the plan focuses on keeping today’s wildlife from becoming tomorrow’s memories.
