Secretary of State Releases 2011 Corporations Annual Report

Secretary of State Jeffrey W. Bullock has released the 2011 Annual Report for the Delaware Division of Corporations. Delaware remains the chosen home of more than half of all U.S. publicly traded companies. At the end of 2011, there were over 945,000 active business entities in the state, a 4% increase from 2010. Overall new entity formation in 2011 grew 13% to 133,297.

Appearing in Delaware for the first time in three years, Delaware’s copy of the Bill of Rights is now on display in the Charter Room of the Delaware Public Archives. The document will be on display until July 2, 2012.

Delaware Welcomes Exchange Students from Miyagi, Japan

Governor Jack Markell greeted a group of more than 50 Japanese exchange students and their teachers. They are the first group of students to visit from Delaware’s sister state since the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
