The artist’s fundamental mission is to have her art serve as a catalyst for environmental awareness and conservation.
This solo exhibition of Frey’s work will showcase a series of collage paintings which focus mainly on the sole objective of beauty. The artist intends for the viewer to react emotionally, visually and physically to the complex surfaces of her work.
This solo exhibition of Ellen Priest’s work will showcase mid-sized drawings and layered paintings from two series: the ‘Up Jumped Spring’ series based on Freddie Hubbard’s lyrical jazz waltz, and the Berklee Series “Jazz: Thinking Out Loud, Reaching for Song.” The Berklee Series is the result of a joint painting/jazz project with student composers at Berklee College of Music’s elite Global Jazz Institute.
Personal observation, notes from David Brinley’s sketchbook, ephemera, vintage books, music, and recollections inform the subject matter of each painting and ultimately determine the context and the content of the work.
