Early this morning, Governor Jack Markell signed a balanced Fiscal Year 2017 budget funding programs that build on the progress made to increase Delawareans’ opportunities to make the most of their talents. The budget reflects changes realized and reinforced by the Administration and the General Assembly over eight years, helping the state achieve the fastest job growth in the region while raising the quality of life for all Delawareans.

That’s why one of our top goals has been giving all Delaware families access to high-quality early learning programs and why I made early childhood funding one of my top budget priorities this year,” Governor Markell said. “These efforts show how Delaware and the Obama Administration’s historic investments in early learning can make immediate and lasting change in the lives of our children. By continuing to live up to those commitments, we’ll create bright futures for our kids, and we’ll keep Delaware moving forward.”
