The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold a public meeting Monday, July 16 to enable Delawareans to express their opinion about the US Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal to deny the state’s 126(b) Clean Air Act petitions aimed at reducing air pollution that comes into Delaware after originating elsewhere. The public meeting will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Room A112, Wing A, Delaware Technical Community College Stanton Campus, 400 Stanton Christiana Rd., Newark, DE 19713.

DNREC Secretary Shawn M. Garvin urged EPA to follow regulatory procedure and provide the state with adequate opportunity to make a case for reducing out-of-state air pollution that comes into Delaware and continues to plague the First State.

Three additional private wells in Blades area return test results exceeding EPA’s health advisory level for PFCs

DNREC and the Division of Public Health announced today that three private wells tested Feb. 19 in the Blades area by the US Environmental Protection Agency had returned results exceeding the EPA’s national health advisory level for perfluorinated compounds (PFCs). DNREC and EPA immediately notified the property owners of the test results and provided home carbon filtration systems for their water supply.
